Dear Peter,
Hello, chum!! I hope this letter finds you well!! Hogwarts is fine, though I occasionally wish I were at the Ministry instead. You know how it can be!!
I am writing to ask you a rather large favour, actually. I told my mum something I perhaps shouldn't have. It was a stupid thing to do!! She's reacted...rather badly, to say the least, and I'm not allowed home for the Easter hols. It is a very long story!! I would stay at Hogwarts, but I have ever so many important meetings with the Ministry over the hols, you know. I'm in a bit of a pickle!!
Do you think you could spare a room?? It's only for a week, and it would be quite fun, I think!! Do let me know so that I may inform Professor Dumbledore as quickly as possible. He's very understanding about these things, who knew!!
