Oh, things! They do keep happening, and I never seem to write them down.
  • I'm now working most days in Farringdon, which is a pretty great place! Our offices are on Hatton Wall, and "we" are Hide&Seek, and I heartily recommend the "Who We Are" page because the picture of me is excellent. If you, like me, work in or near Farringdon, maybe we could ( Read more... )

WHY CAN'T YOU UNDERSTAND THERE ARE NO GOATS

This makes me want to smuggle a goat in a display case into the museum.

There is actually a picture of a goat in the museum! In a display of the special logos of lots of different masonic branches, one of them is a goat! But a stuffed real one would be pretty great.

Kevan and I went to the Freemasons museum

Is it worth seeing or is the mixture of overt secrecy and lack of goats a bit too much?

I wouldn't make a special trip - if you're passing by and it's open, it's maybe worth poking your head in, but it's not particularly exciting unless you really really like leather aprons and pictures of compasses.

Sounds like you are having a pretty awesome life of it, which is good.

Been too long since I saw you - will have to try and catch up on one of my fleeting darts through London, if poss.

Assuming we're talking about the Freemasons Hall on Great Queen Street, I went in there once on Open House. I recall the museum being sa bit dull, but the GReat hall is fabulous, in a really gaudy and "too-many-symbols-in-the-one-place" sort of way.

Mm, it was pretty dull, and in a less compelling way than, say, the Sewing Machine museum. But the vague unhelpfulness of all the signs was pretty great.

So what they're saying is the thing about goats is the really secret thing, so secret that they actually deny it rather than saying it's secret?
