i'm so glad that the only period piece romance movies i am interested involve gays, so that i don't have to sit through oscar asskiss films like atonement. gay romances don't win oscars anyway, and they never get big budgets (besides brokeback, i guess,) so they focus on making the film watchable rather than overblown and full of shit.

Atonement is a fucking horrible book. It's all drawn out and long and it takes until the middle for anything to happen.
