I learned about Maenads in class today. They were women who worshiped the god Bacchus in Greek myth. These women would drink wine until they went into a "trance" (blackout). I just learned about the Maenads and Dionysus too a couple of weeks ago. Don't you love the party where they tear the three story tellers apart for weaving instead of celebrating the new god Bacchus? Good times. Devote ladies of the party god.

My teacher today only touched on the Maenads, because they were referenced in Percy Bysshe Shelley's poem, "Ode to the West Wind," that we talked about in class today. Either way, crazy shit.
