 As all of you know, I almost never post to my journal.  I just don't want to spam the wonderful authors whom I've friended, and who share their stories with me.  But this was just too important, and too sad not to give a silent nod to:

That was a tough article to read, but there were some rays of hope in the organizations that were giving this problem their attention. Like Cat said above, the only thing to do, short of opening your own facility, is to donate and continue to educate.

I, too, agree with all that everyone has said. This is such a sad state of affairs but I know there are organizations that are working to rectify this.

In addition, I know the issue of the elder gay population is one of Robert Gant's ongoing work. My understanding is that he's an activist to facilitate advancement and promote genuine support for elder members of the LGBT community.

I read the article in the paper yesterday as well. Thanks for the useful info, Cat.

I believe Bobby Gant plans to do a movie about gay elder care at some point.
