An "over-petti"?

Okay, so I currently only have an a-line petticoat, and I would like to build up the rest of my wardrobe before buying another petticoat.  Bau some of the items I already have/an thinking about getting would go better with a bell-shaped petti ( Read more... )

hello,

I only own A-line petti's but sometimes, I also really need that bell shape and then I layer 3 pettis over each other... a longer one... a shorter one and a really petite one :) this also give's a bell shape for you dress :)
Most of my dresses need an A-line petti so I don't feel the need to buy a real bell shaped one.
I hope I was of use :)

That's a good idea, and definitely something I'll consider for the future, but unfortunately I only have one petticoat, and I don't have money to put toward any new petticoats right now. Thanks though!

Definitely! If I need extra poof I add a short petticoat over my long one for that perfect AP-level cupcake shape.

It's not really poof that I'm looking for. Just that immediate pop out at the top of the skirt, instead of the gradual slope of a-line pettis. On the upside of things, I was cleaning and rediscovered an old Bodyline petti. I tried what you said and it seems to have helped a bit? But it's still not the shape I'm going for, you know?

That would probably work fine. I have a bell shaped petticoat that is not super poofy, but when I layer my shorter A-line Petti under it, it still gives a bell shape.

i think you could also try a bum roll, it's just a bit of fabric and some cotton stuffing. pretty cheap :) i wish i could find the tutorial i saw the other day!!

I have also made a circle skirt with about 5 yards of ruffled tulle sewn about 5 inches above the hem. this won't do much to pouf up the top, but will give your petti extra volume.

Now there's an idea! I hadn't thought about bum rolls!
