Apparently last week's ultrasound indicated I have a fatty liver and my doctor wants to discuss this further.  And I get that.  But I'm really in no mood for a lecture - and I know that I ate like complete shit the last few months BECAUSE MY MOTHER WAS FUCKING DYING.  So cut a girl some slack already

I totally get just wanting it over and done with. Every chore, piece of paperwork, and meeting means you have reminders of your loss and the stresses of the past year jabbed into you. You can't take a breather, you can't let the grief naturally ebb and flow. You can't move on.

Hang in there and good luck! Maybe the financial advisor can suggest something for the tax bracket thing.
