A long one.
I hadn't written any (worthwhile) poetry in a while. I was getting kind of sour on the idea that I (or anyone) had anything interesting to say these days.

Melancholy Stories, chapter 1 & 2
A long while back I posted the first chapters of my 2005 NaNoWriMo project Melancholy Catatonia. I went back and re-read it last year and really hated a lot of it, or at least thought I could do better. So I re-started it from scratch. Bummed, I started glancing at old (and recent) scrawlings in notebooks for something creative to amuse me. This is what I found, possibly one of the greatest passages I've written:
"Heartache found me, even when I thought I was safe. Shazbot."
It's true, I'm amused by the dumbest things. I love that.

I just had this weird moment where I went to my friends page, but it was somebody else's. For some reason, when I type in sewermanlives.livejournal.com/friends without a slash at the end, it does that. Train Rider
Somebody must have screwed her very poorly at some point. The train rider thought about this as he observed a pensive young woman sitting across from him. That was his explanation for the way she sat, like she was bound and muzzled. He figured it was only rude to draw conclusions if he actually approached her.
