So in what is now my yearly tradition (like
last year and
the year before) I went to see Nicholas Brendon in a play with the Blank Theatre Company last night. It happened to be at the same little theater where Cute with Chris Live was back in February, but on a different stage.
And once again I did not meet him after. But with good reason! Joe tried to make me, but I told him I could give an enactment of basically what would happen if I actually did:
Me: Hi! You were great tonight!
NB: Oh, thank you.
Me: Yeah, you're always great when you act. I've seen you three times with this theater company now.
NB: Oh, cool. Thank you.
Me: Yeah, I saw you this year, and last year, and the year before, in Lobster Alice. It's not like I stalk you though, I swear.
NB: Oh.
Me: I was just a really big fan of Buffy. I was so in love with Xander! And I saw you at a Buffy convention a few years ago too!
NB: Yeah.
Me: Yeah, I saw you, but I didn't meet you. I met your brother, though. I accidently smacked him on the ass.
NB: Ha ha. That's nice.
Me: You're my friend, you're my Xander-shaped friend!
NB: You know what...I have to go back stage now.
Me: Really?
NB: Um, yeah...I have...rehearsal.
The three plays were pretty good last night. It was the Young Playwright's Festival week one, which means the plays are all written by kids and performed by professional actors. Joe and I sat in the second row this time! I liked them better than the ones I saw last year. And we might actually go to all four weeks of the festival this year!
P.S. I think I am much cuter
this year.
