Laundry Woes

Nobody likes to do laundry, but you always want what you can't have.  My fairly new, very expensive Maytag, Neptune washer gave up the ghost today, on my first load, and hubby is leaving town in the morning for a week (hence, lots of clothes didn't get washed.  I hemmed and hawed for a long time about going to the laundro mat with all my clothes ( ( Read more... )

Well ... if you've never liked it and the expense of getting a new one isn't an inhibitor, then I'd encourage you to find a washer that you do like. We spend far too much time doing laundry to do it in a machine that we hate if we don't have to.

As for what to do with the old one, I know a lot of places like the salvation army and such would pick them up - also there are a few sites out there to post things that you'd like to sell/give away I could find for you. I know Mom used them when she was getting rid of things before she moved.

I know there was a used appliance place that came out and picked up my old washer in Keller when it bit the dust -- for free. They just came and got it. I think they use them for parts.
Why fix something you have never liked if you can swing something that you do? Heck, I'd even get one without all the bells and whistles to get something I liked vs a fancy schmancy one I hated.
Have fun at the laundrymat. I usually just sat out front in my car and read a good book. :)

I would love to give you a non-slanted comment on Maytag, but I USED to work for Maytag and I wouldn't buy anything with that name on it...my job is being done by a sweet Mexican person that is making appliances for 2 dollars a day...so that is where I stand...don't know where you would find any appliance made in the good old US of A. Sorry I went on and on, but I guess I must have needed to vent...but if you are in the market for a good corn planted...they make them in USA...where I now work...JOHN DEERE....this is Morgan's weird aunt..but I always forget my password and stuff!!!

I'd love a corn planter, but I don't know if my neighbors would appreciate it and it really just wouldn't get my clothes washed. Afraid I'm stuck buying a new washer. Guess the best idea is to just buy a good extended warranty.
