Spiffy, but warm, perhaps uncomfortably so in the summer months since leather doesn't breathe, but that's true of just about any non-chain armour. You could always sew or rivet plates underneath (or make a lining with pockets for the plates) to make it a pseudo-brig. Needs a set of bracers to round it out, too.
