[Archery Lesson 2: Rapid Fire] [Open to: Sakura and Ishida]

Ishida's bare arm drew back and released the shot it was withholding as it flew back to grip another arrow. His hair and bare top was matted with sweat, as he had been here for two hours shooting continuously. The black haired teen's shoulder relaxed as he stopped to catch a breather. He hoped that after the lesson his student wouldn't be as ( Read more... )

Sakura came running up to Ishida, waving at him. She had almost overslept - damn that Kakashi for not setting the alarm clock! She was still wearing a turtleneck, a black one today; Kakashi had seen the hickey that Ishida had given her and the marks that Gaara had left on her neck. He wasn't all too happy and now she had even more marks on her neck and shoulders.

"Hi, hon! I'm sorry for being a bit late, but I forgot to set the alarm clock and I drank a bit too much at the party yesterday."

Stopping beside him she gave Ishida a friendly smile. "Shall we start then? Is there anything special I need to know this time?"

Ishida smiled gently at his student, tugging one sleeve of his kimono on. "It's fine that you're a bit late - I wasn't really paying attention anyways." He almost flinched as his shoulder gave a sharp blast of pain from overuse but kept it under control.

"Today -" Ishida stopped for about three seconds to shoot one arrow and make it - "we will be rapid shooting. It is essential for the competition because it increases arm strength and it is also a division itself. The last section is often judged as the most important - because the fastest gets a fair amount of points for finishing first. But those points are worth nothing if you can't aim straight...so this is why I hope you practiced because today your precision will pay off."

"You sure than I can do this then?" Sakura sounded a little bit unsure of herself. "This is only my second lesson, after all. So... we're going to run around and shoot at the targets, or what?"

To her everything sounded a bit confusing - she was after all only a beginner at archery. Frowning slightly she waited for him to explain more about how it was supposed to be done.

Ishida shook his head and wondered if he was being a bit too hasty about this. "No - it's rather simple - you just have to shoot 5 arrows quickly at one target. It's the last section of the competitions because whoever can pull this off good deserves the extra points of winning the race. We'll start off easy, here -"

The boy pointed at the target that his lone arrow was at, clothing loosely hanging off his sleeve. "I want you to try and make at least 5 arrows in a minute. I'll time you...ready...?"
