Honey, have you tried applying for food stamps and such? I know it may not help with diapers, but what they gave us every month saved our ass from being too broke. WIC is pretty good, because nearly everyone qualifies for it, and you get free juice/milk/healthy food until your baby is 5.
When you go to WIC, ask them if there's any resources for young mothers. It may vary from where I live, but here, they have a domestic shelter that doubles as a trade in program for diapers/food/clothes. (Of course, it also doubles as a ministry trying to convert you, but sitting through it wasn't too bad) I got hooked up with everything I could, especially since my family was far away/non-supportive.
i have a freezer chalked full of food and roommates who are so sweet and share what they have with me. as far as food and such, im not worried about.
i applied for iccp...help with childcare and thank god i qualify. that and wic. those two things are going to save me.
as far as resources for young mothers. HA im not really young. i'll be 27 in october. im just a single mom =p. i have a whole packet of places that offer assistance. too bad it's nothing i need.
i just need to get back to work and get some money coming in. instead of just.. out.
as far as what alexis needs...she has so much stuff. she has clothes up until she's 5 years old, a bassinet, toys, bottles...everything.
you should see my room. HA it was once mine. now it's hers. i just sleep here too.
thank ya for listening to me bitch though. just one of those days. =)
