You don't know Bic Runga? Singer/songwriter from NZ.. has been on the s/track to many an American movie. her song "Drive" was huge in the US (was also in "American Pie", I think), and some of my US friends rave more about her than my Kiwi ones! :)

She's half Malaysian Chinese, half Maori.
