i've wanted to go to comic con for years. someday, someday, my dreams will come true. in the meantime my former boss gets to go and met neil gaiman last year. i was so sad i wasn't there. :(
Dude, I know! I've never been able to go either due to conflicting work schedules and I can't tell you how happy it makes me to get the opportunity. So happy I'll climb aboard a flying deathtrap at the risk of falling to my death engulfed in a screaming fireball just to spend one day there and be a COMPLETE autograph and photo whore.
I really hope you get to go next year or sometime real soon. No one should be deprived of COMIC CON OMG. :(
it is completely acceptable to be an autograph/photo whore at comic con....actually, just about anything is acceptable. :-D i know i'd be running around like some sort of crazy person trying to meet as many people and get as much free swag as possible!
i really should make it a point to figure out when it is and save some cashola in the next couple of years.
Aw, look at it this way: lightning takes the shortest path to ground. If you're in the air, you aren't touching the ground. Ergo, no particular reason for the lightning to strike you. Also, they won't let you take off if they think it's dangerous, and if you're in the air, they route you around the storm. (Personally, I think it's cool to see lightning level with your face -- and 30 miles off-- rather than above your head, but maybe that's me.)
Man, I never should've watched that movie Pushing Tin (about air traffic controllers). I was awarded the privilege of seeing for myself just how close planes fly by each other and promptly had one of the worst nightmares in recent memory.
I hate lightning. I'll even take off all my jewelry if I have to walk in the rain--even if it's just from the car to the door--because I'm afraid lightning will be attracted to the metal and sizzle me but good.
The Thunderstorms shouldn't be a problem. Lightning routinely strikes planes as a matter of course. The thing to watch out for is A] Gremlins on the wings B]Snakes and Samuel L. Jackson C] LITTLE MAN as the in-flight movie
And oh god, Little Man. Can you believe that if it wasn't for PotC 2, Little Man would've been #1 at the box office?
???
?????????????????????????????????????????
Then again, we do live in a world where a horrible rap song about pimps won an Oscar.
Unfortunately, our flight--*weeps at the word*--isn't long enough for a movie and I get to spend the 1 1/2 hours contemplating a heinous death while an obese woman's fat folds bulge onto my seat.
Someone talked me into seeing White Chicks (also by the Wayans). When the movie let out, we were walking back through the lobby and I was all, "Do you really hate me THIS much?"

I'm actually curious to see LITTLE MAN, in the same way that people slow down to look at Automobile accidents *g*

I really can't wait for this. Every year I've been dying to go and never could, so this is like Charlie winning the golden ticket all over again.
And don't worry, I'll take lots of photos so you can share with me in the fun. :)
