ANARCHY!

Dear Indies of the World,

Pavement sucks. Chins aren't heavy so lift them up every once and awhile.

Yours,

Leslie

Hey bb! Yes, I strongly dislike Pavement. They aren't on the same level of my Hinder-hate, but they're on my "Were original in their day but now clearly not impressed as I probably should be" list that includes Pink Floyd. I know, I'm blasphemous. ;)

i'm on the fence about pink floyd, i liked them a lot more when I was a teenager (I wonder why....) just don't say you don't like led zeppelin because you'll break my heart ; ) weirdly enough, I'm currently listening to pantera which is pretty out of character...

Hahaha, I do like led zepplin but I wouldn't call them my favorite band or anything. They're on par with The Beatles for me; good stuff but don't own more than one cd of theirs.

Pink Floyd was huge with a lot of my friends in the states during my high school years, too. Which IS better than those of us obsessed with boybands around the same time. :/ I can't account for my taste at that time. :(

I've never even heard of them. I guess I'm not ~indie enough?

Hahaha, go to Pandora.com and make a radio in their name; you can listen to them for free and see wtf I'm going on about.

They were the first of their kind, but they progressed to get weirder and weirder as time went on and then disbanded. Can't say I like much of anything they came out with before they disbanded, and only somewhat liked their first recordings.

One of the original members of the band, Stephen Malkmus, has a decent career but can't say I like anything of his either. Sigh.

Pandora.com doesn't like Canadians, so I'll find an alternative method of listening to them...

:( That's harsh, I'm sorry to hear that bb. Last.fm, perhaps? Something Canadian friendly?

Pavement were the greatest band in the world circa 1992-94. I must have listened to "Slanted And Enchanted" about a 100 times when I first bought it. 'Range Life' the song is OK.

Music tastes change over time though, because I can't get into their old stuff like when it first came out.

Well I do think when it's the first, and it's original, it's easier to like.

Of course you'll cling to it for sentimental value but it probably doesn't equate to the memories you had of it when you first started listening to it.
