I tried not to over-think the decision once I'd made it, but I do feel there's something unique to Natasha's perspective. Since she's a super spy, I think it's easy to take her at her word (or at least feel inclined to), but there's also so much self-deception going on in how she wants to see Maria in terms of not wanting to deal with whether or not either of them have been compromised. Keeping Maria's perspective as much a mystery to the reader as it is to Natasha really was deliberate, but a choice that I fretted over a bit. (Look at me, over-thinking it.)

So I'm glad it seems to work? Thank you!

I love the feel of this story. Natasha seems like a tragic and beautiful character to me (having not read the comics and being only knowledgable of the movie verse) and you portrayed that wonderfully. I've read this twice already and intend to share it with others I know I'll enjoy it.

This is so kind, thank you! I agree that there's something tragic -- maybe even a little vulnerable -- about Natasha, and combined with her obvious strength it becomes really pretty fascinating. Glad I captured some of that.
