Wow. Sounds like you had a rough time but handled it very nicely! Pushing is SO much easier when you..ya know, actually have the urge to push, lol. It was the same way for me with Delanie (I pushed for HOURS with her), but with Avery..they broke my water and he was like OMG LET ME OUT and I only pushed for 20 minutes.
I know I have told you on FB but congratulations on the new baby. He is a doll. I'm so glad you finally got around to posting this. :) How is the feeding thing going?
we are exclusively pumping. breastfeeding wasn't working. my inverted nipples were SO sore. I would cry pretty much, all day. So, I started pumping and bottle feeding to give them a break.. and I was SO much happier I tried to give him the breast again the other day.. it didn't hurt, lol.. but He cried a lot afterwards. I'm not sure if he had enough? So. We decided to just pump and bottle feed. He is still getting my milk :)
Does your hospital have a lactation consultant you could go see? Honestly, pumping exclusively SUCKS for building supply and it will likely start dwindling once it goes from hormone driven to supply/demand. There are definitely things that can be done to get him to the breast. For instance, you could pump for a minute or so to draw the nipple out and the latch him. Numerous other things! It really is so hard until you get the hang of it but it gets so much better and SO SO SO much easier. Seriously, I do this in my sleep every night! I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend seeing an IBCLC and if that's not available, there are LLL meetings in the area and people you could contact through them who will help you guys!
