You start a war, we'll start a disco!

First of all, YAY they transferred me to Lincoln Center! SWEET VICTORY IS MINE! Or at least non-stabby victory. My Real and Official Type Lawyer doesn't want me to talk to the school paper for now because she doesn't want me to "spook" Fordham into revoking my transfer or something, but apparently the editor heard about what's going on through some channel and as soon as I'm secure in my fancy new Lincoln Center digs I'm going to spill mad dirt to them. Cause as psyched as I am that me (and Jon for that matter) aren't stuck in the Rose Hill death trap, I'm still concerned about my roommate and you know, every single gay person on that campus. I think the paper and the Pride Alliance should be all over this as soon as possible. If nothing else, people should know that a violent homophobe threatened and attempted to attack other students and that, beyond moving him to a different dorm (as if we were the problem and simply separating him from us is going to make everything A-OK), NOTHING was done about it. We all made the proper reports, followed the no-contact rules, did everything we were supposed to do, assuming that, if nothing else, the university would keep us safe. Our mistake.

I'm going down to New York next weekend to move my stuff over to my new room and the thought of being back there, even for a few hours, is unpleasant and kind of surreal. I had no idea a month ago that I'd be moving my life back out of that room so soon. And starting all over again at Lincoln Center... I can't decide if its going to be ridiculously difficult or refreshing. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. No matter what its like, at least I'll be away from Dave and that whole situation and (based on the fact that its Fordham's performing arts campus) I won't be surrounded by homophobic psychos. Come on theater kids, live up to my stereotype and greet me with open arms and flamboyance!

The last week or so has just been chock-a-block with vacation awesomeness, including but not limited to: sticking it to the man gay-style at the state house with Rayna, Maxine, Nik and Elissa (even though we kind of lost, we shall overcome because dude, they're protesters suck, they're side doesn't have a prayer), testing our wits with Stad's game show ready trivia type game things (team Le Douche 4ever! Twelve balls lives!), Rayna's birthday, more marathon L-Word sessions with Rayna and Zoe than I thought I was capable of and working a particularly delirious shift at Cinema Smith with Zoe. I don't actually work there, I just act like it! By... laboring for no money. Well, you can't have brains as well as looks.

I finished Talk Dirty To Me (thanks Rayna!) a few days ago and it completely blew my mind, definitely one of those books that takes things I believe in a vague kind of way and puts them into words. Human sexuality is so complex and dark and wonderful that trying to put labels of right and wrong on it is ridiculous. As long as your not imposing your sexuality on another person against their will, who the hell is anyone else to tell you what to find arousing or beautiful or fulfilling? And the chapters on porn and legalizing prostitution were fascinating and seriously brought up things I've never even considered before, I highly recommend this book to anyone with a pulse.

I also finished Neverwhere and wow that was seven kinds of awesome. I loved the entire thing but I was especially in love with the whole idea of London Below, not to mention how beautifully it was presented. Usually I tend to get fed up with hapless narrators, but I loved Richard and Door was so ass-kicking without being Mary-Sue-ish at all and... yeah, I am way in love. I was also seriously ready for it to have all been in his head by the last few pages but then the Marquis was there in the door and how perfect is it that he showed up to take Richard back? Yay.

Stargate Atlantis season two on DVD March 6th. I am so ready. Seriously, I'm camping out outside Best Buy if I have to... cause you know, what with SGA being the national craze it is, I'm sure I'll have to cut bitches to get my hands on a copy. Recognize!

Today I mostly just hung around the house doing laundry, watching MST3K, reaffirming my love of coffee and catching up on the Joe Flanigan birthday celebrations. And reading gay porn. Duh.
