Maybe it's me, but when I date someone part of my blanks on the fact that they have a past. I don't know what it is. Maybe I just don't care enough to concern myself with their past relationships. Or maybe I'm truly arrogant and just want to consider myself the first person they've ever dated, as if no one else matters. It's strange the way my mind

Personally I use LJ partly because I got too lazy to keep a paper journal any more, partly as something to do when I am bored, and partly to keep in touch with my friends who live far away from me (like you with Tessa)...I know exactly what you mean about people just using it as some kind of ego boost, I post pictures occasionally when I have them just for my friends to see, and for me to look back on, I certainly don't expect people I don't know to be interested in them! In fact really, I don't expect people I know to be interested in the vast majority of my journal posts, let alone those I don't know in 'real life

Most importantly, I get annoyed with the people that make 8 entries a day and only post quizes they took. I honestly tried to ignore it, but it just kept clogging my friend's page.

It would be nice if there was a way to simply filter out posts that include quizzes, memes, or other stupidity. I would love LJ forever if they did something like that.

I totally agree on the photos thing as well. I've pruned all those kind of people from my friends list lately accept for two who I know as friends and just deal with their photo whoring because I know they're good people otherwise.

I hope you decide to stick around because I enjoy reading your entries but if you don't, I wish you the best of luck.

i know what you mean about the annoying people who post quizzes EVERY. DAMN. DAY. and promote those stupid rating communities, and they don't even use lj cut. i opened my friends page last night and this huge picture of a half way naked girl came up and it said something like "SEX APPEAL...do you have it?" - that shit annoys me so much.

i also agree with you about the people to start their entry by saying "1st Period -" blah blah blah...and on down to the minute they walked into their house after school.

i don't think you were talking about any of my entries, but if you were, i'm sorry. if you make a friends cut, i'd really like to stay ;)
