Title: St. Patrick's Day (A Helping Henry fic)
Characters: All of SJ, but mainly Eunhyuk, Donghae and Henry
Rating: PG 13 (Language...)
Genre: Humor.
Summary: Donghae decides to celebrate Canadian (Irish?) style to cheer up Henry.
A/N: This is what happens when St. Patrick's day, cheery Donghae, tired Eunhyuk and a drunk Heechul come together in my mind.
I don't know about most Canadians, but I celebrate St. Patrick's day. Actually, my parents do, but... I guess it's just an excuse to throw a party and get drunk. (Not me of course... I just dance.) But that's what happens when you're mom is German and you're dad is Irish... Like I said, it's just an excuse to invite people over and bust out the booze.
-------
There was rustling outside. Was that what woke him up? For the love of... it was, like-- Henry rolled over onto his other side to check the clock-- 6 in the morning. Henry went back to lying on his back and draped an arm over his eyes. It was probably just Donghae again...
On the other side of the dorm, Eunhyuk was woken up by a thud in the hallway. It was 6:00, for Christ's sake! He looked over to Donghae's bed to tell him to go check it out (Why should he do it, anyway? He was sleeping.) but Donghae was gone, the blanket just thrown to the side of the bed. Eunhyuk groaned, rolled out of bed and went to the door, opening it.
Eunhyuk rubbed his eyes, "Donghae? What the fuck are you doing?"
Donghae pushed himself off the ground and picked up the things he dropped: green streamers, a bag of clover shaped confetti and a green hat with some odd looking coins in it (Like the ones Henry carried around and looked at longingly.) He looked up at the older, "Uh..." He turned a little to hide the things, "Nothing..."
Eunhyuk rubbed his eyes again quickly. He had to be seeing things. But when he looked at Donghae again, he knew it was real. "Donghae?"
"Hyukkie?" He mimicked, batting his eyelashes.
"Since when are your eyes green?"
Donghae grinned, "Cool, isn't it?"
"Sure, but why the hell are your eyes green?"
"Contacts." the younger turned and went back down the hall.
Curious, Eunhyuk closed the door behind him and followed, "Donghae, why do you need contacts? You don't even need glasses."
"It's just for the effect, Hyukkie." Donghae unrolled the streamer, climbed onto the couch, and taped the end to the ceiling.
Eunhyuk looked around what was once their living room, and was now turned into.... There was no other word to describe it other than green. "Donghae, I know what it's like when you go into one of these obsessions... But this? This is too far."
Donghae sighed, unrolling the streamer so he could pin it to the ceiling on the other side of the room, "It's not an obsession."
"Then what, may I ask, is it? Other than green, I mean."
Donghae spread the odd coins over the table, then put the hat on Eunhyuk's head, "Henry hasn't been very happy lately, so I thought I might make him feel more at home!"
Eunhyuk took the hat off his head and read the English words printed on the front. Kiss me, I'm Irish. Eunhyuk raised an eyebrow, "Irish means Ireland, not Canada."
"St. Patrick's day is an Irish celebration."
"Henry isn't Irish, though."
Donghae face palmed, "In Canada they celebrate it, too! And why not? We haven't celebrated anything with all the members for a while! We've been on tour all this time and finally get a day to ourselves."
It was Eunhyuk's turn to sigh, "Fine, fine. Is there anything I can do to help? Or can I go back to sleep?"
"MY EYES!"
Both spun around to see Heechul on his knees, covering his eyes. "So... Much... Green..." he said dramatically.
Donghae raised an eyebrow. "Hyung?" He walked over to him, Eunhyuk quickly putting the hat on the younger's head as he passed, and put a hand on Heechul's shoulder. "It's okay, hyung."
Heechul lowered his hands. "HOLY SHIT!" he yelled, pointing at his dongsaeng, "DONGHAE HAS BEEN TURNED INTO A LEPRECHAUN!!!"
Donghae took the hat off and took out one of the contacts, "I'm not a leprechaun, hyung. I'm still Donghae."
Hankyung walked in yawning, "Hyung... There's no such thing as leprechauns."
Heechul huffed, "That's like saying Pooh bear doesn't exist."
Eunhyuk rubbed the back of his neck, "Hyung, Winnie the Pooh is a fictional stuffed toy."
Hankyung helped Heechul off the ground, "It's too early to be drinking, hyung."
The eldest looked down, "I wasn't drinking... Well... I might have been..."
Donghae's eyes widened and he dashed for the kitchen muttering something about... Guinness?
Eunhyuk rolled his eyes before going into the kitchen as well. On the counter were five tall black cans. When Donghae shook them, Eunhyuk figured they were empty. "Maybe he was sleep-drinking or something and didn't realize--"
"They were imported." Donghae pouted, "You can't get these here..."
Eunhyuk patted him on the back, "Relax. At least it was Heechul and not Kangin, otherwise they'd all be gone."
"Kangin couldn't drink that much." Already perked up, Donghae opened the fridge door, revealing a whole shelf full of those tall black cans with Guinness written across them.
"But... You don't drink."
Donghae shrugged, "They're not for me. They're for everyone else. It's Irish beer." He looked out into the living room. Heechul's (drunken) yelling had woken just about everyone else up.
(Back in Henry's room)
"Ugh..." Henry moaned. They were all up. They never woke up this early in China... They never woke up this early before now... It was nobody's birthday either.
So why were they all up t 6:30 in the morning on one of their only days to relax?
The Canadian boy slowly pushed back the covers and got up on his aching feet. He opened the door, only to be bombarded with green, green and more green. Not to mention bright lights, sleepy members, and one very, very awake one.
"Happy St. Patrick's day!" Donghae shouted, putting the green hat on the younger's head, covering his messy bed hair.
Henry rubbed his eyes. Maybe he was hallucinating... He looked again. What the...? "Hyung? Are your eyes green?"
