Lura leaned back in the cushy airplane seat and closed her eyes, grinding her teeth. They are wrong. Peter wasn’t sick enough to die. If he was so sick he would have died already. And there were to be no fuss made about it. Graff hadn’t flown her halfway across the world to kneel beside her best friends’ deathbed, because she would have done so on foot, willingly. No, he had brought her for his own motives. What they were, she hadn’t figured out yet. Graff had been the only other living soul who knew how her mind worked, and he was always one step ahead of her because of it. She opened her eyes and looked over the seats to the front, where she could see the top of Graff’s balding head. A few gray hairs stuck out in odd places. He would be clean-cut by the time they landed
