Yikes! Well, he wouldn't have made it two weeks; he could barely open his mouth to eat and cried when he swallowed.

Ian went back to school yesterday and is healing beautifully, so I feel okay about the whole thing now.

I just realized I didn't include the pictures I took for this post. Lemme fix that real quick...

It's got to be nerve-wracking being a parent. Heck, for me, it's bad enough just waiting to become one (though it gets better the further things go). I know there must have been some times when my parents felt the same way you did. Like I said, I think you did what was right and in good time, you know? There's no way to know how bad it could have been and maybe now he'll know better about sticking things in his mouth. Sometimes we humans are stupid; we have to learn things the hard way.

Thank you. It is hard sometimes, but totally worth it too. You're going to be a great mom here pretty soon. :)

Alas, I still have to remind Ian to take toys and such out of his mouth. I keep asking him, "Haven't you learned you lesson??" He has an oral sensory issue that requires biting and chewing, but his chewy necklace is still too hard on his jaws, so he won't use it yet.
