Up until this past January, it had been over 1.5 years since I opened Photoshop. I tried to enter the inaugural round at 20muses, but I just got so frustrated making icons that I had to stop. Plus, grad school really began kicking my ass, which didn't help matters at all. But now, I'm halfway through my winter quarter and miserable as fuck, so iconmaking

I totally understand though since I did the same last month. I can't wait to see the random pieces you've created! There's sure to be some spectacularly mind-blowing things among them. You never fail to amaze and inspire, seriously!

Last but not least, YOU are using one of my icons. My brain can't even begin to compute that. You've always been one of my fave makers, and I still hold so many of your Lost icons in my mind as some of the best pieces I've ever seen. Welcome back, Kim! I would not have guessed that you haven't opened PS is in such a long time. The fact that you still managed to make icons on the same level as before is amazing and a great opportunity to just pick up where you left off saving people, hunting things. No idea where that came from :D

I'm really impressed by the texture use and composition on this entire batch! My favorites are chemistry + quote, close crop and juanxyo texture. I also really like 2, 11 and 13.

Thanks, Laura! I really didn't know how much I missed making icons til now, and it feels awesome to come back to it! It's a major relief to hear that my skills haven't completely degraded since I last tried my hand at PS. I seriously had to go and read a bunch of tuts, my own Q&As, and Google the most obvious things, like "crop 100x100," cuz PS6 isn't quite like PS5. Very frustrating at first, but once I got the hang of it, it started being really fun again!

I can't thank you enough for the motivating words and fantastic feedback! You're certainly as awesome as I remember! <3

It's soooo good to see you around again! And for being gone for so long, you surely haven't forgotten how to icon! Like, really, WOW, there're very unique and original icons in this set. I especially like #5, #6, #12 & #16 from the 'definitive' and #5, #9 & #13 from the alts.

I'm honestly shocked that I managed to make anything decent after so long. The process of making the first few pieces was so aggravating and daunting. It felt like nothing was ever gonna come together! But everyone, including you, has been so thoughtful and encouraging with their feedback. Enjoy the icons, and please do let me know if there's anything you thought looked a bit awkward or too sharp or whatever. Concrit is probably the best thing for me after so many years away!

I'd never seen Casino Royale til December, and now I'm sorry I didn't watch that and the other Daniel Craig Bond movies sooner! He's been an amazing Bond, but I always thought the character was nothing but sexist so I never bothered to watch the films til recently. I wish Daniel could just make the movies forever, but that's not remotely possible since the poor guy's tired of getting hurt all the time while filming them. :/

Honestly, I do think that enthusiasm is all you deserve - to come back after that long of a time with such a BANG and such an amazing quality of icons is totally admirable and ughhhhh, I cannot stop staring at them <3333. Nothing looks too sharp for me, and I don't see any awkwardness there either... There are some where I don't quite agree with the texture choices, but that is 100% based on personal taste because you worked them all in so perfectly, ugh <3333.

Aww, I know right! I was a bit late too when I started (it was at some point between Quantum of Solace and Skyfall) because I was never a huge fan of the Bonds in general - for the same reason... Plus I always thought they were quite boring - but so beyond in love with Daniel Craig that I just had to give in at some point xD. I never regretted it! 3/4 of the movies (Quantum was a bit of a fail ngl) are in my general top movies list - Casino is forever number one, though, I ship James and Vesper to death and beyond OMG <33333 - and ughhhhh, I wish he could

Oh, I absolutely agree. Textures are so much a subjective thing that what works for one person may totally look wrong or unappealing to someone else! I mean all of iconmaking is subjective, of course, but textures are usually that added element that can be too overwhelming for some. I tend to skew towards the "Hey, why use 1 if you can use 10!" side of things. Obviously. :P
