I've had physical therapy twice, once for a strained rotator cuff and again from knee pain incurred when I fell and aggravated my arthritis. Both times it was GREAT, did wonders for me, and lead to a complete recovery.
With the rotator cuff, the therapy included rubbing a solution on the area, then sending sound waves (silent)crashing through it. Painless, needless to say. After I had partially recovered, they stretched the joint manually but I was never in pain. It felt pretty good, actually.
The worst was trying to do the exercises right. I've never been an athlete, and having someone watch me screw up was embarrassing, even in my 60s. I should be past being embarrassed. FanSee
