There isn't, that's what made me confused. It might be that up till now I never even thought about asking my parents this kinda stuff, and it's scary now that I'm older that eventually I'd never get the chance to ask again. So even though this stuff is nothing special, the fact that I know now that it's nothing special is pretty big for me.

Some more history, but this is probably more of mine then yours.
So anyway, your dad is friends with my uncle back in China, and that is how our moms became friends. I'm not sure if you mom knew my mom back in China but I think they became good friends when my mom came here to the US. Because I think that your parents help my mom out when she first got here.
And so, in conclusion, our family connection is through your dad.
