I've only done the train from Memphis to Chicago, but it was a fun ride (except for the gassy old people behind me). I <3 leg room.
The el is fun. The only reason I liked the Metra better is because I got to either sleep (I was a last-stop jerk) or sit in the second deck and stare down girl's shirts listen to my iPod.
When are you doing the King Tut exhibit, and find out how long its going to be there. I have until mid-august to waste time, so I may try to get up there to see it since I don't really want to wait another 25 years for it (yeah, I'm fucking old, I think my parents saw it in NOLA when my mom was pregnant for me, shut up noodle). Besides, going there would give me an excuse to go to Wrigley Field and get wasted in the sun watch the Cubs win lose.
