Very good hearing, paranoia, or both ?

Currently having another odd spell - I've been waking up from a deep sleep at some point in the early morning (Roughly between 3am - 6am), fully alert and convinced that someone is either attempting to break in or has already done so (the very instant I hear the sounds, I'm awake). My parents find it odd that I'm rushing downstairs with weapons so ( Read more... )

Hm...don't know if it's considered a habit (though it happens at least 2 or 3 times a week) but I wake up at odd hours with my heart almost pounding out of my chest. I don't remember hearing any noises or anything that would set me off, so I dunno what's going on.

It's awesome that you can be alert after waking up so suddenly. Most people just flop around for a few minutes before they can pull themselves together.

Might one suggest a link between Intensified Training and these occurrences?

Since within the last two months you seem to have focused allot more into the training. Perhaps its just a reaction, your body is basically used to being within fighting situations so is ready to jump into that mode easily. It could even be a case of something triggered in a dream to make you think that you need to use these responses?

I also have the bad night time habit of not going to sleep. >.>; Also listening to music while pacing up and down in my kitchen. I find it relaxing o.0

I've never had it during all the years of Shotokan training and god knows we were conditioned to be on a razor's edge ! With that said, I think it may just be down to paranoia - given that my extended family is off the fucking wall, that wouldn't be a surprise.

I wake up about a minute or so before my alarm is due to go off. That's freaky, particularly when you change the alarm time and it still happens.

I do the waking up just before my alarm thing as well. My psychopath of a sister has habits closer to yours tho altho she's unconcious at the time but gets up and has weird conversations with people (usually about someone breaking in) before trotting off back to bed

I've got a Martial Arts seminar to attend down in Bournemouth, a week on saturday. It's a two day affair, but I'll be down on the friday by the looks of things.
