I don't where that picture was taken but it reminds me of Jerusalem. The old city has an enormous population of stray cats and many of them look very much the worse for wear. I worked on a building site in Jerusalem's old city for a few weeks in summer 2003. It is an amazing place, with massive stone walls and steep, narrow alleys, all built of slippery white limestone. Christians, Jews and Muslims have been fighting over Jerusalem for hundreds of years. I think that they are deluded; the city clearly belongs to the cats
