Not too tough I hope. Thanks for taking the time to answer :)

(and if you think these are tough, you should see some of my exam questions, though apparently the one on pixie genetics did have students stifling giggles in the exam hall...)

Thanks for the poem. I was put off Hardy by having to study The Mayor of Casterbridge at school but Neutral Tones is very evocative. I will have to look at some of his other poems (and perhaps even attempt to read another of his novels). Coming from Wessex, I feel that I ought to enjoy Hardy's work.

Morgan le Fey, destroyer of heroes, who else! I am glad (on the whole) that you chose the Arthurian version, though a day in the life of The Morrigan of Celtic myth would certainly be interesting (collecting the heads of fallen warriors, eating their eyes, etc.). If I ever see you washing clothes at a ford then I will find another crossing place...

We had to read Tess of the d'Urbervilles (sp?). In my opinion he was a much better poet than novelist.

Here is another of his poems, one that I always found resonated with me particularly.

The Self-Unseeing

Here is the ancient floor,
Footworn and hollowed and thin,
Here was the former door
Where the dead feet walked in.

She sat here in her chair,
Smiling into the fire;
He who played stood there,
Bowing it higher and higher.

Childlike, I danced in a dream;
Blessings emblazoned that day;
Everything glowed with a gleam;
Yet we were looking away!

Yes, I meant the Arthurian Morgan Le Fey. I always liked The mists of avalon and the way the story of Arthur was retold in the eyes of the women. Morrigan was also associated with the Raven, wasn't she? Or am I thinking of another celtic warrior godess?

Out of interest, who would you chose to be for a day, and why?

Well, it would have to be someone who knows me. I would love to see myself from an outside perspective. I would choose someone whose character and intelligence I respect but whose skills, talents, tastes and life experiences differ from my own, so that I have plenty of new information and perspectives to take home with me. I would also choose to be a woman, from simple curiosity ( ... )

Bodyswap. Has one of my brothers favorite quotes.

"Wait a minute.. I never used to be a man. Why've I got male reproductive organs...?"

....

"Me arm, you've lost me arm"

"It's worse than that"

"What?"

"I've lost your whatch too."

Heh, love that show.

I am not actually sure how i feel about someone wanting to be me. :) Thank you. I would chose a day when I don't have pmt though ;)
