*hugs* I felt the same way at the end of my sophomore year at Emory...most of my closest friends here were graduating and leaving me behind. And it hurt, and it was hard. But the ones I cared enough about to stay in touch with, I did. Sometimes it was hard because I felt like I was the only one trying. But we have stayed in touch. Yes, it's not the same as being able to potentially see each other every day...but we make the best of what we do have. We are so incredibly lucky to live in a day and age where daily communication via email, cell phone, or IM is possible. I got through that difficult time, and so will you. And in the coming years, you will become closer with people who may just be acquaintances on the periphery of your circle of friends right now, or who you may not even have met yet. That's just the way it goes. And I'm not saying those new people will take the place of your old friends. Of course they won't...they can't. But you won't ever be alone. And your old friends will always be just an IM, email, or
