the public radio station here has been playing a lot of tapes n' tapes (i can give you this once my replacement laptop charger comes in), new okkervil river, of montreal, you can try st. vincent "now, now," it's possibly a good radio song...

andrew bird's got a new one out. and coconut records (i've got this too). and i think bon iver's either got a new album coming or it's already out.

Yeah, I have been meaning to check out Tapes 'N Tapes for a while now. We've played songs from both the new Okkervil River and Of Montreal, and just the other week played something from the new Bon Iver EP (it's pretty good!).

I think that you could embrace the old as well. I'm on a Nick Cave kick again. Did you ever get into him? He's releasing an anthology later this month.

Nick Cave has been hard for me to get into, I think I need to listen to him more. Older stuff does that to me. It took me a long, long time to get into Joy Division but once it clicked, it stuck with me.

Wow. Thanks for blowing my mind.

It's weird seeing internet stars out of their element. It's as if they exist in a vacuum, where Captain Mark is forever in a spacesuit and that one kid is eternally in a sound booth singing chocolate rain. I was devastated when I read that Merrill Howard Kalin died in 2008.

Yeah, I actually saw that. Some of it is stuff I really like and the rest I haven't heard yet. I know that one song by Frightened Rabbit (I downloaded the Pitchfork 100 tracks of 2008) and I like it; do you know if the rest of the album is any good? I've been curious about them.

I dont think the rest of the album holds up to that song, but the lyrics are pretty clever and it is an enjoyable album on the whole.

If you like that School of Seven Bells song I really suggest that. It is the first time in a while I have been obsessed with an album.
