If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your ( Read more... )

I know how ya feel...my pre-cal class is going to kill me... I made a 50 on the first quiz and have a test coming up I'll probably fail...I try and try but I just don't get it and I really don't understand why I need to get it. Yes Ashley, the Man just wants us to learn things we shoudln't have to and then if we score well we can get a job we don't want and earn money we shouldn't have to have so we can buy things we don't need. Bastards.

It's all a ploy to keep you from shaking the establishment... if they can keep you thinking about things like established rules of mathematics and the version of history supported by the state by keeping you confused, then you won't have time to question the things they want you to blindly accept. It's the same with our consumer culture; as long as you think you're making yourself happy with temporary stimuli, you have no desire to change the system. It's like conditioning and soma, really. Everything pretty much goes back to Brave New World. Good work, Mr. Huxley.

I know it's kinda tuff right now, but you just gotta feel teachers out and see the kinds of questions they ask. Trust me, I've been there. For what it's worth I still think you're an amazingly intellegent, sweet, cake.
