I guess it depends where on the coast you live. Apparently the Gulf gets too warm at points during the year... and it really wouldn't be good to eat oysters.
I was told that the rule is it's safe to eat them only in months whose names contain the letter 'r'. Still... thinking of the fact that the temperature of the gulf gets above 80 degrees... even into september/october... I consider oysters a winter/spring delicacy.

Are you saying if I move to MA I can get married AND have raw oysters year round?
