What-what? More than one post in a month?

Whee, so back from Calgary Comic Expo over the weekend.

Admittedly, I wasn't all that pumped to head down until I actually got there haha (still have that everlooming workload and I could have used the weekend to catch up on that). Shoved aside the guilt once we hit the site and really had a good time instead.

Drove down with akamaru early on Saturday. Chris was supposed to come down as well, but he didn't get in until pretty late lol. Saw amranx while waiting in the entry lineup so I flagged him down and got some fuzzy hugs from him later <3.

Err, most of time was spent milling about the hall, looking at geek merch, looking at the lineup for famoose celebritees and, of course, checking out the billion artists that came out for the con.

Totally completed my main objective >:D.

My ReBoot artbooks signed by Mr. Blair and Mr. Su :D :D (exponential geek growth, I know, I know). Tried to chat a little with them and they both came off as really nice guys. Jim was pretty laid back and doodling in his sketchbook (looked like a Matrix portrait) until I bugged him for signatures haha. Grabbed a copy of the Storm Hawks comic he did a piece for as well. I've only caught bits of the TV show, but I like the way they animate it.

And bonus, picture with the both of them after the ReBoot panel! Had to skip out on watching the costume contest for the panel but it was worth it.

A bunch of the artists who contributed to the Udon 'A Tribute to Street Fighter' book were actually at the con, so I swiped a copy of that and went hunting around for signings. Joe Ng, Jim Zubkavich, Omar Dogan and Jo Chen were there of course but there were a couple more as well. Actually, while Jo Chen was signing my book, I wanted to ask her if she had a favorite Capcom character she liked drawing (just as my feeble attempt at casual chat). I think she took it as "Can you draw me your favorite character?" though, so she added a quick sketch by her name !_!

It was really neat to see everyone's drawing process but I had a horrible case of shyness when it came to going up to tables, checking stuff out and talking to people. I didn't want to loom (read as 'drool') over shoulders since they were all so busy. Managed to pick up one of Steve Rolston's copybooks while I was passing by his table. There's a picture of Rasputin in it that I particularly like haha. Also grabbed a copy of Sean Galloway's book and he threw in a quick Ninja Turtle sketch in the back haha.

Cruised around the artist alley and found this fellow named Dan Petcu that has a really crisp style, and wicked creatures on top of his other work. I wish he had some sketch prints for sale at his table along with the other one he was selling. He had a critter that reminded me of a lamia and it really caught my eye. Commissioned him for a sketch of 'random monster' and he came up with this:

I might be a little biased, but it's freakin' bad ass. Check his other stuff out. He does a lot of concept-type work including mech and environments.

The only things I regret not getting are Frank Cho and Jo Chen prints but I had already overspent by that point haha D:. But mmm, artbooks...

Err, ended up not taking that many costumer pictures actually :(

Bob and Dot, yeaaaaaaaaaa!

And this super tall M. Bison :D. We make good character foils. Uh, height foils. Uh.... wow, dang, I'm really really short :(. (Pix by Aka XD!)

In short, it was pretty darn awesome and I'll probably hit it up again next year. Thanks for the bracelet and for letting me drag you around Aka! Next time, you're leading >:0.

Just gonna throw down some scribbings so I don't have that build up like last time:

Doodled today, off Dan's demon.

Sprayed+painted version of that prop from last time. It's in neon colours for blacklight. (Green Eel)

Underwater ship wheel. This one was pretty fun.

Oh yea, and this super hot babe I found waiting by my table one morning. Foxy momma.
Uh, it's actually supposed to be a replica of a Muffler Man. It reminds me of Gary Beach (on the right) when he was Roger Debris in The Producers:

Trying too hard counts as a try lmao.

Maybe some dragon character. (Ugh profile again!!)

Sketching up my cousin's old RO character. Maybe I'll finish it.

Sey is so not impressed with her sisters' antics. Another one to play with later. (RO nostalgiaaaa)

Val as a Prinny lol. Dood. He makes the most pathetic Prinny ever :(. Huh, wait. If Prinny bodies house the souls of sinners...

...!

...

......

!!!!!!!!!!!! I KNEW IT.

(Ok, only one person got that. Obscure reference, under plot+characters)

ccee, scribble, rambling, ro
