because i'm a very lazy person i rarely comment on livejournal entries. so i don't comment on those ones that say 'please comment if you still want to read my journal'. but, you see, if i didn't want to read your journal i probably wouldn't put you on my friends list. and anyway, i do not subscribe to friends-list politics (oh how could you ( Read more... )

what did you think of 40? i liked the scenes with eddie izzard, and thought the rest was rather crap.

yes, yes! he was actually quite good :D go eddie! that woman, the wife of the man who brought home the woman from the factory, really irritated me. i hate women like that, and unfortunately british drama series seem to be awash with them.. so i never watch british drama ;)

god, yes, she was a pain, mostly because her hair annoyed me. and the factory woman too - her english was far too good for an illegal immigrant, she seemed too polished for there to be any element of "realism" in her character. my main gripe was with the themes, plot and content (erm, everything) - it was as if they were just trying to be as controversial as possible. typical channel 4 programming i suppose, but they just didnt pull it off in the same way they have in the past with the likes of queer as folk. but, at least it wasn't as bad as metrosexuality. i stick to bbc2 when i want british drama, channel 4 for everything else (mmm, six feet under, e.r., west wing, ed, etc, etc).

yes, i said to my mum "she has -horrendous- hair!" it was indeed very bad. but.. eddie! i need my eddie obsession back. i don't know why he keeps insisting on being naked in things - he has such a strange shape body. ah well. i think i saw metrosexuality, when i was in finland. oh, it was bad. and plus, i didn't understand what the hell it was about. i didn't think 40 was that bad, really. i do get annoyed by characters being unreasonable/screaming/crying (usually women, actually) and being stubborn. it is only a 3 parter though, so they didn't really have time for developing the storyline or anything, i suppose. not that i'm a tv critic ;)

in the third one, eddie was very funny when he was allowed to be eddie, i can't exactly remember the quote right now, but i think it included much yelling of total randomness or disjointed/abnormal trains of thought. it made me grin.
