that's cool - and being able to have wine from just around the corner is great!

I'm in sweden and can only have beer from around the corner. :p

Wow - that is awesome (and beer is great too.) I have always wanted to visit Sweden. If I make it over there anytime soon I will bring you a bottle of Virginia wine! (-:

I did not know that! I've taken wine tasting classes before but had never been introduced to the seyval grape. If it's crisp, I'd probably like it.

Yes - you can get some less-well-made examples here on the East Coast, but there are some that are really good. It can have really high-intensity acidity and beautiful citrusy notes, but not quite like a sauv blanc - you get the non-vinifera earthy aromatics in there too. I would love to share a bottle of the good stuff with you sometime. (I like seyval, but it is not necessarily my favorite...I just thought it was a unique and home grown username since I am such a wine geek!)

ah, i was wondering!

(and if you're curious about my username, lol... when i made my livejournal, i wanted something anonymous, like "aisforapple".. but that was taken, so i added "pie" to the end of it, thinking it was all the more fitting with the ed and all. :p )
