So my sweetness and light and I are at the local Blockbuster, when she rushes up to me and says the oddest thing.

She: "Honey, we have to buy an XBox!"
Me: "Who are you and what have you done with my wife?"

Here you should understand that I'm the one that plays most of our video games...and she knits. She knits gorgeous things full of complexity ( Read more... )

Katamari had me setting up our PS2 by myself. Ryan gave me the same look.

I love love love Katamari Damacy
And I get so sad because I can only play for 15 minutes before I feel like I'm going to toss some cookies.

We got our Playstation because of Katamari Damacy. Waiting impatiently for the Wii version!

So far they are being very non-committal about any other ports. I'm not holding my breath that we'll see a Wii version. (Now I'm hoping that the Universe will prove me wrong on that)

You make an excellent point.

Second hand furniture from unknown sources always squick me out though.

Hmmm...yes, but what is a little squickiness in exchange for getting your sofa AND your XBox. Besides, I have seen some perfectly good sofas at Goodwill...of course, I did inherit my grandmother's cheap gene.

LOL!!! I don't think you come as close as you think. You, my friend, are "reasonably frugal"

And you're right. The sofa's at Goodwill are perfectly good. And since we have to cover it anyway due to the dogs...well.

However. Because our living room is so narrow we want a specific type of sofa. Sadly. I haven't seen one of those at Goodwill. And I've looked. (Because believe me, I'm not above second-hand stores)

You could wait and get a sofa later. I don't mind sleeping on that one ...

I know. That's one of my concerns because our current sofa is soooooo comfy to sleep on. Hell on the back to sit on though. And the dogs just wreck it when they're getting themselves comfortable. Still. For a second-hand sofa, it's been a real good one.
