What activities in San Francisco would you recommend for someone at the age of seventeen or eighteen? All suggestions are appreciated, but I specifically wanted to know about more active activities where I could meet people. Like any groups that go hiking, or something like that? Thanks!

Visit exploratorium and legion of honor museum, then hang out on ocean beach.

getting ice cream at bi-rite creamery and taking it to dolores park. loads of young people chilling there.

Lots to do at Golden Gate Park, even see bison! Alas, no sign marking where they parked the Klingon bird-of-prey in Star Trek IV. Pier 39 is fun, too. Quite a few shops, the big merry-go-round to gape at, the Alcatraz souvenir shop, boats, and the sea lions. The area near the pier is neat too. Tour Boudin and see what can be made with sourdough. Several nice places to nosh. Pushy pigeons and seagulls when it comes to your food. (They are fat!)
