It seems like sweet potato pies used to be available at some of the larger supermarket chains here in San Jose. Recently I've tried Save-Mart and Safeway, but no luck

The Saturday Grand Lake market in Oakland has a pie vendor who sells sweet potato pies and red velvet cakes!

I've seen them at the Nation's Giant Hamburgers in Hayward, though I haven't been there recently.

Charlie Franks are delicious. Nation's are reliable and readily available, though they come in tart size, not pie size. Any Nation's should have them, and they are open *late*.

Souley Vegan in Oakland has an amazing sweet potato pie on their menu. I wonder if you could buy a whole pie from them-- I'd thought of doing it for awhile until I discovered I can't have gluten any more. It's seriously awesome sweet potato pie.
