I'd LOVE to take BART, but in order to get to Belmont I'd have to take BART to MUNI to Caltrain and it would be an extra hour on my commute. Same deal for South San Francisco, and the job is several miles from the Caltrain station. I wish public transportation was a viable option, but it doesn't seem like it.

You could shorten that path to BART to Caltrain if you switch in Millbrae, not Frisco.

Truth, but then I'd have to hoof it two miles to the actual job site. Which is not the end of the world, but not ideal.

I am not familiar with the nastiness either of those commutes during rush hour, but I was wondering why not take the San Mateo Bridge to South San Francisco?

I think you'll hit traffic either way. I am facing a similar issue with the reverse commute (Peninsula to East Bay).

good luck, soldier!

I'd take the San Mateo Bridge to Belmont and the Bay Bridge to South SF.

Because 101 North from 92 to past the airport is not really all that fast in the mornings. In fact, it's raaaather trafficky.

Oh yes, SFO! I always think it's just Its-It Factories and rainbows up there. :)

That would be PERFECT. If only I could find out whether or not it was actually open.

Both commutes suck. San Mateo bridge tends to suck marginally less than Bay Bridge, but Bay Bridge is about to be updated (they're building a whole new bridge) and might become much better.

Is moving an option? It might be worth it to pay to break your lease and move closer to your job. The time and sanity you would save would be priceless!

Ugh, new LJ commenting system sucks. My husband's job is in East Bay and requires traveling to Sacramento at least once a week, so moving is not really an option for us.
