half share CSA's in Berkeley?

Apr 16, 2012 17:57

Does anyone know of any CSA's that do half shares and drop off in Berkeley? I'm only one person and can't eat up a whole box by myself (trust me, I've tried!).

Thanks!

Farm Fresh to You delivers, and will do every other week delivery of small boxes (still a lot for one person, but do-able.) They are more of a co-op than a CSA but they may meet your needs.

eat with the seasons got generally good reviews online (a few 1 stars from awhile ago) and have an extra small option so i went with them. thanks though!

The small box for Terra Firma is pretty small.

Riverdog has one size box and it is also small. I used it as a supplement to my large Terra Firma box to feed two people.

I wasn't that happy with Eat with the Seasons because the produce selection was really limited, and not worth the weekly fee.

After three years of trying different CSAs, we decided to do the farmers market twice a week instead. It costs about the same and the variety is so much better.

So it sounds like one box from Riverdog or Terra Firma might not be too much for just one person. I was going to go with Riverdog, given Eat with the Seasons mixed reviews, but I was worried there'd be too much produce in the Riverdog box for me. Thanks for your feedback!
