OB/GYN's---the good & the bad in San Jose area

A friend is looking for a great ob/gyn in the San Jose Area. She wants to deliver her baby at Los Gatos Hospital. She has Blue Cross insurance.

Does anyone have any recommendations or warnings?

Hi. If you mean El Camino Hospital in Los Gatos, I would recommend Lin Lee, a Certified Nurse Midwife who delivers there. I do not know her personally, but she is active on a CNM forum that I read. I would trust her to be my midwife if I was having a baby, and I am a midwife (CNM).

My OB/GYN is Dr. Steven Batanides. His office is across from Westgate Mall, but he does deliveries at ECR of LG. I've been going to him for about 8 years now. He's an older guy, but he's very nice and very proactive about the health of his patients and he's not afraid of new things. His number is 4082557077

Thank you! We tried them but Dr Batanides does not deliver babies anymore.

My friend wants the option of an epidural, so she does not want to go with a CNM.

If anyone else has a recommendation for an OB/GYN please let me know? Or a warning about bad ones!

aah, that must be in the last year then. I can't blame him, he's got to be getting close to retirement. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

many CNMs have NO problem with patients who want the option of an epidural! I don't know Lin Lee's philosophy on this, but I suspect she would be open to whatever is safe that that patient desires.
