The big problem is, these people really think they are doing a good thing, and a lot of people probably agree with them. But I think that the ultimate result is increased divisiveness.
So is helping someone that you feel is doing something negative, despite their opinion, actually a good deed?
I'm not actually demanding an answer from you, but your comment made me think about it.
I've screwed myself over a couple of times by committing to something and then figuring out it was bad for me. If I know beforehand, I'll say no to the help - saves me the aching later.

I can relate to where you're coming from.
I'm similarly overwhelmed. But the miracle of nerds working science makes me posting things and pictures very, very easy, so despite my avalanche of a workload, I'm actually still on here a lot more than I thought I would be. Also: I think I am an internet/blogging junkie.
And despite my craziness, I am actually taking a long weekend down to SF--one I can ill afford--because it seemed like a good idea at the time.
