I read this book a few years back, and was torn about it.
On the one hand, it's beautifully written, and I loved getting to see Tenar again. On the other, without spoiling anything for those who have read it, it turns so much of what had been previously established on its head, that I resent this book a little bit, because it's telling me that so much of what I found amazing about her older books was just plain wrong. And what she's replacing it with is beautiful too--but the part of me that remembers devouring A Wizard of Earthsea and The Tombs of Atuan misses the Earthsea that was.
