Interesting. I've heard mixed reviews about this book as well, focused on the characterization. Have you read A GAME OF THRONES yet? I'll be interested to hear what you think of it, especially in comparison to this.

Nope. Haven't read it. It's autographed and still sitting on my shelf.

So have you ever read any of Jennifer Pelland's short stories? I bought her short story collection, Unwelcome Bodies (it was JUST released) and I think there's some stuff in there you would like, particularly the last story, "Brushstrokes."
