A set back

Well, my Mom got off to a decent start this week at rehab from the stroke she had that affected her left side. I was led to believe things were improving from your last post. This is distressful. Do you reckon she is recovering, though at a slower pace than anticipated, or not at all?

Well Hon we're at a pretty uncertain place right now. Our visit with her today was pretty rough. She's been moved to Critical Care due to more congestive heart failure issues and she seems to have leveled off for now. The hardest part today is that she just wants to go home. Because she can't right now she's become quite unhappy with us and that just makes things more difficult.

I still have hope. We're sort of taking things day to day right now since she's been having more set backs than improvements lately.

Dave and I pop over for Mother's Day tomorrow, I'm crossing my fingers that she has a good rest tonight.

I'm very sorry to hear about the strokes. It's incredibly difficult logistically and emotionally when brain damage interferes with your ability to communicate with someone. Have strength, tell her that you love her.
