2 Months Along

I had one of those "what the hell am I doing?" sort of days this week. The first half of this week was tough, the second half improved. What is happening to you is absolutely normal. It happened to me when I changed job after having spent 13 years doing same things.
It seemed as if I had lost the ability to learn anything new, I was afraid of asking questions to my other colleagues because I couldn't remember whether they had answered me already or not,... God my former job was so much easier and comfortable. I could hardly sleep, it was a nightmare.
What do you think is happening here? Your rusty little brain cells are learning alright but after so many years of routines they're just not quite used to anything new so it takes more time.
Take notes, write down a maximum, organize yourself so as to retrieve infos faster. You're, what, 2 months through now. I'm sure you've progressed from the very first days, just not fast enough but Rome wasn't built in a day. *hugs*

Sounds like learning to me :)

You're doing fine and more and more of this will come together as time goes on. Don't focus on what you must accomplish over the next few months. Break it down into smaller, simpler components and just focus on what you must get done for the day or week. Every once in a while, check to make sure you're progressing in line with the big picture and adjust your tasks accordingly.

You'll be fine, Bill. You are bright and energetic, just learn to take things in small increments and relax. New jobs can be daunting, but you've got what it takes.
