Here is a video of a monkey in India protecting a temple from authorities from demolishing it to widen the road. The Monkey normally is friendly to visitors, but this time got hostile when the authorities showed up.

The interesting thing is that it is a temple for the Monkey God Hanuman.

I am reading "American Gods" right now, so this made me cry.

Could that be Hanuman, defending a place of worship, defending his very existence? I love hanuman, I have this cool comic book about him, and I dreamed about him once. He is not my God, but he is a God and deserves our respect, I think I will pray to him today and wish him well. We need gods, and they need us.
