Both the female and male should be tested for Brucella( a dog sexually tranmitted disease) before breeding.Rottweilers should also have an x-ray to test for hip dysplasis which is very common. If a female is spayed before her first heat cycle she is much less likely to get breast cancer later in life. If she is spayed young she is less likely to get fat also
